I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Longcot and Fernham CE Primary school website. Longcot and Fernham CE Primary is a school where each individual is valued and supported to achieve their personal best. Our children are supported in becoming confident and independent young people, who thrive on challenge, and are motivated to learn.
Ofsted visited us in November 2022 and said 'Pupils of Longcot and Fernham have high expectations of themselves and others. This is clear to see in the exceptionally kind and considerate way that they encourage and support each other at school.' (Ofsted 2022) Pupils and staff have high expectations of themselves, and work hard to ensure our curriculum and supportive environment enables all children to thrive. You can feel this passion and enthusiasm from the moment you step through our front door- visits are actively encouraged and we look forward to welcoming you to our fantastic school.
Christian values underpin all that we do at Longcot and Fernham CE Primary School. We believe that the understanding and application of Christian values strengthens the school community’s spiritual development which is demonstrated by our thoughts and actions. Our core Christian values are: Love, Honesty and Respect. As a school we have chosen these to enhance the curriculum and daily school life. Each term we focus on a different Christian value, explicitly through our collective worship time. Children have the opportunity to reflect on each value and to develop an understanding of that value in action and how they behave.
We place a large emphasis on children’s views and opinions and believe in empowering children to make decisions about their school and learning. We are also proud to be a Church School reflecting Christian values in the way we interact and build partnerships with each other and within our community; children also learn about other faiths and religions. Mutual respect forms the basis for all our learning and the partnerships we have with parents/carers and the community enables us to achieve the high standards which are hallmarks of Longcot and Fernham School.
