This term our topic is 'We are British.' We have been learning the names of the countries in the UK and Great Britain and their capital cities. In art we looked at the work of the British artist L.S. Lowry. We really liked his work and we used charcoal to create pictures in his style. Miss Harris was really pleased with our work and was amazed how clean we were at the end!
On Thursday 1st March it was St David's Day and World Book Day. We came to school dressed as our favourite book characters and wished our Head Teacher Mrs Mellor 'Happy St David's Day!' Can you guess what book characters we are?
In our next art lesson we used charcoal and pastels to create pictures again in the Lowry style. We really enjoy working in this style and we sang a song about Lowry as we worked.
As part of our British Topic we have learnt facts about England and we have been joining in with The National Anthem.
We have learnt facts about Wales.
On Thursday 15th March we went to St. Mary's Church in Longcot to take part in a Prayer Space activity. We found out about different ways we can pray which was fun and thoughtful.
On Monday March 26th we had our whole school annual cross country run. Each year group races against each other and it's lots of fun!
