We began this term by learning about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot.
Here we are in a music lesson! First we were moving and keeping time to some lovely classical music in a 'popular' style then we were singing a song about mud! Can you see our expressive yucky mud faces?!
In an art lesson we painted poppies.
We painted and printed autumn trees.
In Science we tested different materials to see if they would make good egg protectors. We had lots of fun! Water definitely didn't protect an egg and it made a big mess!!
In our next Science lesson we tested different solid materials to see if we could change them by bending, squashing, twisting or stretching. This led to many interesting conversations about how we can change materials.
This is bendy!
I can't bend this!
I can't twist a metal spoon.
We have to record our results.
In Art we created tones of red or purple.
Our next science lesson was really fun! The world record to stretch a 26gr bar of a Curly Wurly chocolate bar is 311.5cms so we each had 26gr of playdough to see if we could beat it! Unfortunately none of us could and the longest we made after 2 attempts each was 56cms. We discovered the best way to stretch it was to roll it and the warmer it got the better it rolled.
Christmas is coming so we made some beautiful silhouette pictures.
We wore our Christmas jumpers for a delicious Christmas dinner which was cooked by our brilliant school cook Mrs Parry.
We enjoyed making these decorations.
Here are our Ntaivity photos. All of KS1 take part and we have been brilliant!
